For this edition we asked our members what their most memorable gaming moment of 2008 was. It was a great year for gaming and the year provided a ton of great moments, what were the best though?
World Container:
1. Gaming for the Sarcastic Gamer Extra Life 24-hour marathon. That was a blast. Twenty-four straight hours of Xbox 360 gaming goodness. And all for a fantastic cause. I only hope they do the same sometime in 2009! Link: http://extralife.sarcasticgamer.com/
2. Stepping out of the vault for the very first time in Fallout 3. Rare has it been that there is a gaming moment such as this.
3. This may sound odd, but witnessing my daughter finish her first video game, beginning to end. The game? Disney Princesses: Enchanted Journey. I know what you’re thinking, and don’t worry, I already looked in the instruction manual: no Horde mode

Dali:
- Stepping out of the vault was incredible… I concur on that one!
- Beating several “Late to the Party” games that were sitting on my rack, including Gears of War, Halo 2, and a bunch of Gamecube & DS games
- Discovering the power of Rock Band/Guitar Hero WT at events… Everyone plays, and everyone enjoys it.
- My incredible used game score: Orange Box, Mass Effect, and Lost Odyssey for $40.
- My birthday weekend gaming binge: 9 games bought/received as gifts.
Eminutia:
Almost every FMV moment in Final Fantasy VII was the most memorable gaming moment for me.
Thegreatest7884:
Realizing what a great game Far Cry 2 was, even after all my friends said it was horrible, and probably finally getting around to playing bioshock.
Deakkanite:
Stepping out of the Vault definetly was a morable moment indeed
Further my cousin and me have many memorable moments of playing Halo 3 online this year

Damnightmare:
Realizing what a horrible game Far Cry 2 was, even after all my friends said it was great
There was no REAL memorable gaming moment in 2008 for me, this year has been boring to be quite frank.
I guess beating Shadow of the Colossus was memorable, great game I recommend it.
Also I guess replaying Chrono Trigger was memorable, I haven’t played the game in over 10 years so it was great to enjoy it again.
Superbond2:
The endless setlist 2. Some great, and not so great, times right there.
Shuckey:
Just watching the Trailer of Left 4 Dead was such a great moment…it made me want to REALLY buy this game. Playing the game for the first time on Expert with friends playing the Finale for 3 hours until we learned a trick to beat it easy everytime.

Necromancer2K8:
Does fixing my xbox 5 different times to be able to game count as a most memorable gaming moment of ‘08?
Yaniv:
Meeting Rocco, Sean, Derrick and Gerret (Mega64) at PAX
PAX in general
Starting G3
Getting my hands on Mercs2
Fallout3 as a whole
Even just hearing the words ‘Elder Scrolls V’
Diggy Lee:
My most memerable gaming moment of 2008 was finally getting all the dolls for the “Dollcatcher” achievement in Fable 2. I thought I was never going to get it due to the fact that people wanted large amounts gold which I don’t have or legendary weapons that I personally didn’t want to give away. Not to mention the theft of the dolls to so many people being nice and wanting them back. I was lucky enough after jumping in one day overhearing that somebody wanted help with getting achievements. I helped him out and in return he had gifted me all the doll and that one dog trick book from “pub games” for free! I offered to give the dolls back but he told me to keep them because he had rented Fable2 and just wanted the achievements. I just want to thank him for playing the way Lionhead intended it to be and helping me out!
Alter Genesis:
I have one. Healing the first land in Prince of Persia…Breathtaking Moment.
Or when you Eagles Dive for the first time on Assassins Creed

I missed the opportunity to post my most memorable gaming moments, however I will still share mine in this comment section.
1. Firstly, let me say that by far my most memorable gaming moment of 2008 was finishing Solid Snake’s final mission. There were several moments within the game that made me tear up. No, I am not afraid to admit it. It is a very emotional game- especially for those of us who have known Solid Snake since Shadow Moses. It is a masterpiece in almost every way and I am sad to see the series end. I don’t imagine there will ever be another game that will ever make me feel that way.
2) The runner-up moment for me would be when I exited a subway in Fallout 3 and I saw the demolished remnants of downtown Washington D.C. It was truly a remarkable experience and one that I will not forget for a long time.
That is all.
