Secret Service! Even the title sounds cool. I will admit that I’m not a fan of many shooters but I think you’ll get your money’s worth out of this title. Now I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a hit, but it’s definitely worth it for shooter fans. With the release date of November 2008 and it just so happened to coincide with the current presidential elections made it cooler. Let’s break the game down and take a look at some of the features that it has to offer.

They claim it’s a tactical first person shooter. I on the other hand thought it was your typical run and gun with a decent storyline. It reminds me of Call of Duty 4 except on a budget. The levels are not long, and each mission didn’t take me much longer than an hour at the longest. Some are a lot longer than need be though. During missions there is at least one computer or bomb that needs to be hacked. I hated hacking the computers and defusing the bombs honestly, very annoying especially when you ran out of time. The game just becomes repetitive the farther you get doing nearly the same objectives over and over.

The controls are not all that great in the game. To take down an enemy with your sub-machine gun takes nearly half a clip or more sometimes. Other than the sniper rifle, you are better off not trying to aim if you want to hit anything. Melee, what’s that? There’s melee in this game? Not so hot in this title. I guess your suppose to use your taser instead. Weapons are a broad range of pistols, automatics, and shotguns that gives you a wide variety that a lot of games don’t which is very cool.

The audio and visuals of this games are just average or maybe just slightly below. The graphics are a not what I hoped for out of a next generation console game and the audio is awful in this game. It made me want to turn the volume down. I think it was imported from the last generation console which made it below average.

To recap my thoughts on the game it was a very cool idea and you get to play in some very interesting environments unlike some of the other shooters on the market. I just think that the game need to be polished a little better before it was released. The controls, graphics, and sound was all just average. The gameplay itself was ok but it has very little replay value without any type of multiplayer. I say it’s a good rental or a good bargain bin buy and I give it a 5 out of 10
