We’ve finally come to the end of the “exclusive content for Fallout 3 on the 360/PC with Broken Steel. In Broken Steel, you are essentially getting a much longer and satisfying end to the main quest. In the story, you survive the ending of the game, and Project Purity was a success; un-radiated water is flowing through the Wasteland, which causes even more problems with people fighting and stealing water. You also find out that the war with the Enclave is not over, and you enlist to help in the war.
The DLC includes three quests that are extended from the main quest, as well as some side quests. The biggest thing that most people were excited for is that Broken Steel raises the level cap in the game from level 20 to level 30, and it makes it so you can play the game after you finish the main quest, which was a big flaw in the game. There are also a couple new weapons, armor, and new perks when you level up.
I believe that this expansion feels a lot more like a natural expansion more than the Pitt and Operation: Anchorage was. The missions are set in the world of the main quest in Fallout 3, unlike the Pitt and Anchorage where you have to travel to another location, and because of that the DLC plays very well and naturally, like it was in the game already. There are also moral decisions in this expansion, just like the rest of the DLC, but the decisions in Broken Steel seem like they affect the rest of the game more than the other expansions.

The expansion is also full of more content than the rest. It takes about seven hours to complete, which is way longer than the other two DLC. The weapons that you get also add to the experiences, including the amazing Tesla Cannon. Also, by raising the level cap, Bethesda is encouraging people to come back to Fallout 3 if they have quit playing, which is always good. There are also new achievements, including mission based ones as well as level/karma ones, however there are some problems with the achievements at the moment, which Bethesda has said they will patch, as well as the glitches in the PC version.
Overall, I think that if someone was considering getting only one expansion for Fallout 3 this would be the wise one to get. It adds more to the actual game itself, instead of having the player visit a new location; and encourages people to play more by raising the level cap.

GOOD: Lots of gameplay, weapons, raised level cap, expands on ending/main story.
BAD: Achievement glitches, not working well on PC.
OVERALL: I think that this is the best of the three expansions for Fallout 3, and is easily worth the money for how much gameplay you get out of it.
SCORE: 9/10
Second Opinion by Matt
Firstly I’d like to say thanks to Evolved Gaming for letting us post their review. I’m here to give a second opinoin though. I’m not going to go to in depth since we already have the full review courtesy of our friends at Evolved Gaming yet I will give you a few of my thoughts.
For one I must say this is for sure the best DLC out of the three. It feels like true Fallout 3. Operation Anchorage and The Pitt felt like separate games almost, they felt distant and did not have that Fallout 3 feel, to me at least. Broken Steel changes that and it made me feel like I was playing the same old Fallout 3 that I know and love.
This is the longest DLC which is a great thing because the other two were far to short. A lot of exploration and questing is involved in this DLC. With previous expansions like Operation Anchorage it was just straightforward missions with little to no exploring. Broken Steel offers a lot of exploration and like the other two DLC’s does of course offer a totally new area. I found myself spending a lot of time in Broken Steel just walking around, exploring and gathering items which I did enjoy.
Broken Steel also offers the best weapon in the game in my opinoin. It’s a new weapon called the Tesla Cannon and is probably best compared to the Halo 3 Spartan Laser. The weapon is awesome and will surely be a fan favorite.

Broken Steel also does raise the level cap which is a very welcome addition. Some of the new perks are really great and for those of us who have been at level 20 for months now, it’s nice that we have something new to work for.
That’s about all I’m gonna say on Broken Steel, you can read the full review above courtesy of Evolved Gaming. Overall it is my favorite DLC out of the three and is by far the best out of the three. In my experience it’s about a 6-8 hour adventure, even more if you want to hit level 30. Along with some great new perks, the awesome Tesla Cannon and some great areas to explore and wander, Broken Steel is 100% worth the purchase.
10/10

Fallout 3 has been one of those games that i pushed aside cause it didnt appeal to me right away. I dont know why either cause after giving it another shot im absoultely in love with the game. I have not yet played Broken Steel but it looks absoultely incrdible. I have played operation anchorage and i enjoyed it but i wish you could go back and play it again, i dont know why Bethesda didnt do this. I have not played The Pitt but i have seen it in action and it looks good. But Broken Steel looks very well made unlike the other two(not saying that they werent good just not as good). So im downloading it now and once i play it ill post on the forums what my impressions are.
