Why so impatient? Well I’m anxious to play the highly anticipated Batman Arkham Asylum, which is due to be released next month. This adventure for the caped crusader looks to be the darkest one to date, with villains like Bane, Scarecrow, and the clown prince of crime himself: the Joker.

This Batman game will revolve around the Joker and the worst villains of Gotham City taking over Arkham Asylum just to spring a trap on Batman. Arkham Asylum’s combat system looks to be extremely smooth and a realistic showcase of Batman’s physical prowess (something that has been lacking in previous games).
Also, for fans of the Batman Animated Series, Mark Hamill once again provide his voice talent for the Joker. This is probably the aspect of the game that I am most looking forward to, since it is my belief that Hamill did an exceptional job of providing a comical, but equally deranged and sinister personality for the Joker.

Arkham Asylum will also feature a very Gothic architecture for the asylum grounds, which will add to the atmosphere of this already very dark game. In addition to this being a creepy setting, it will allow Batman to stick to the shadows to enable for sneaky, ninja like attacks to take out enemies with style.
Also, an exclusive feature for PS3 owners will enable the Joker as a usable character for certain gameplay modes (not a full campaign however).

Batman Arkham Asylum will be available for the PS3, Windows, and the XBox 360 and will be released August 25.
