The new dashboard update is rolling out in a preview program to many consoles already and there are some things that many people may not know about, or just not notice as they were not focused on in the full release list. We have found some of the features that many of you do not yet even know about.
Lazy Eject:
If you are this lazy, you can go to the My Xbox blade, and hover over the game disk, you can now press X to eject the current disk inside, although, it still doesn’t change the game for you. Yet.
Clear the Cache:
You can now clear the cache for your Hard Drive now without entering that long combo(X,X,LB,RB,X,X). All you have to do now is go to the Hard Drive and press Y, then select Clear Cache.
Improved Primetime Channel:
The primetime channel now is a lot faster and feels better. It now lists all of the shows in smaller more compact blocks. Also I have noticed that the shows no longer start to repeat when you start to scroll through them a lot.
Clicking Sound when you enter chat:
Now when you enter a chat or party you hear a clicking sound through the headset similar to what you used to hear when you enter or leave a chat. Sometimes this can be helpful, but sometimes this can be annoying.
Faster Gamertag Recovery:
Now when you recover a gamertag it does go faster. I noticed it took me only a few minutes compared to the usual hour when I tried this. I am not sure on everyone, but I assume it is now the same.
Smaller Game Install Sizes:
You may now install games that are smaller than the previous 3 gigabyte limit. This allows some bonus disks and smaller games to be installed onto your hard drive.
Those are all of the things you may not currently know about the new Xbox Dashboard Update. I am sure that there may even be a few things we haven’t discovered yet, but if anything new is discovered be sure to check back here at Go Gaming Giant to find out more about it!

I don't really understand the point of the lazy eject. You're gonna have to get up to put in a new disc anyway, right? What's wrong with simply hitting the eject button while you're up there?

It's ever so slightly faster, and we're a highly impatient society.

I think the real change is they probably made it more noticeable. That's probably why Nick and others didn't quite realize it was possible before the update. As for the rest of these features, I'm happy to know about them.
And if you think our little mistake was bad, check out this video of the lead Kotaku editor talking about the "new" features in the update. Listen for the part at the 55 second mark: http://kotaku.com/5322006/hands-on-with-xbox-360s...
