Community Speak: Old Games

CSoldgames Community Speak: Old Games

In this edition of Community Speak we ask you guys, if there was one older game that you could bring back to a current gen console that is not all ready out. What would the game be and why?

Here is what you said. (Please note all answers are taken from the forums so spelling and grammar is not guaranteed).

I have a few

Final Fantasy VII: You should have seen this one coming, I personally think it’s the best Final Fantasy and I saw that CG Teaser awhile back and it blew my mind. Then Square comes along and crushes my dreams, I hope it gets some form of re-release at least.

Marvel vs Capcom: Easily one of my favorite arcade games, spent a lot of quarters on that game. With Street Fighter getting the next gen treatment I hope some more fighting games get the treatment. Or at least a release on XBLA and PSN.

and last but not least Shenmue: I really loved Shenmue and I know it’s not very plausible for a sequel since it’s been denied a lot…..but a release for XBOX Originals would tickle my fancy even. An updated Shenmue with next gen graphics and I’m sold though.

ff7 and marvel vs capcom 2 are exactly what i was gonna say

My vote is for a Fallout game in the original style. Bethesda made a great FPS RPG, but I still would love to see a FO game true to its origin. I still play the first game to this day and still enjoy it.

Amen brudda! Or even a rehash of Fallout: Tactics, I never played that game but I’m sure it would be fun!

dali

A Donkey Kong sequel like the Pacman:CE that was out a couple years back.

I grew up playing in arcades. I always liked playing games, but there was one……

It was on a console one time on the old Turbo Graphix 16 and the “true” original” was only on the TG16. I wish they would re-make R-Type. The original one. It was just the game I would sneak to the arcade to play whenever I could when I was 16.

Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

All of these games with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots graphics, controls, etc.

Shuckey

Shadowrun (Either the SNes or Genesis Version were great.)

or Master Blaster….one of the best all time games that nobody played.

SpaceInsomniac

I’d would pay a hundred dollars, or even 1200 Microsoft points, for a retail or XBLA version of Rocket Jockey. Seeing as it’s quite possible no one here has even heard of that game, click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-dvmY1VP18

If not that, then either a new SSX title or an XBLA port of Tony Hawk 2, arguably still the best in the series.

Attrebus

Shenmue for damn sure. I would also like to see Kid Chameleon re-created for the Xbox Live Arcade with new, updated classics. I’m an old-school guy like that.

Diggy Lee

The games that i’d like to see come back are also with the Fallout crowd as well! Now that bethesda owns it why not overhaul Fallouts 1 and 2 or heck even remake them with the Fallout 3/Elders Scrolls engine. Either way I would be one to buy them!

Another good idea for a reboot would be for the 1st and 2nd Elders Scrolls games as I have not played them either.

Deaf Paradox

would also love to see a remake of Resident Evil 1 & 2. So many good moments in those.

Cann-I-Bus

Since RE5 came out to the 360, it would be cool if ALL the RE would be made available on arcade. REZero, RE1, 2, 3, 4, RE CODE: Veronica X… I have all the older RE on the Gamecube….. sold my GC a loooong time ago, but kept the RE games (as well as the Legend of Zelda games and Super Monkey Ball) Eventually I’ll get a Wii (my wife wants one soooo bad) so I can play them all, or at least head to the local used game store and pick up a GC for like $25.

Easy enough: Dungeon Keeper from the PC. It was one of the first RTS games I can remember which featured fully-rotatable 3D (besides Myth). It allowed you to zoom in and take control of your minions; it also featured RPG elements by allowing minions to be leveled up. It’s the most original management sim/RTS game I’ve ever played, and that includes anything else from Molyneux (well…..).

It really needs to be renovated with new graphics and new campaigns. With the success of the Overlord series, I’d imagine a Dungeon Keeper update would do quite well.

Well there goes another issue of Community Speak, thanks to everyone who participated, see ya guys next time.

Soul Reaver, one of the best games for the Playstation, had some of the best voice-acting I've ever heard in a video game, plus some of the best music…. I've ever heard in a video game
