[Rumour] Rainbow Six: Vegas 3 Confirmed?

@Eurogamer_Expo may have let the cat out of the bag for one of 2010’s big game announcements. It’s not official until we hear anything from Ubisoft, but it looks as if the third installment in the Vegas series could be here next year.

Over on twitter, the official twitter account for the Eurogamer Expo sent out the following tweet:

HUGE news on its way today. Keep ‘em peeled.

followed by:

Some clues. It’s a game announcement. The game isn’t released until 2010. It’s a sequel. You’ll want to play it.

This was met with lots of random guesses from followers. @Eurogamer_Expo then responded with:

All good guesses. No cigar though.

Finally @Eurogamer_Expo posted:

Well somebody has guessed correctly. ;)

If you look at the twitter search page you can see for yourself which games were suggested.

One of the guesses made between the final two posts was made by yours truly and was for Rainbow Six: Vegas 3.

Eurogamer could have meant an already announced game will be featuring at the show. On the other hand, they could have meant that the will be an announcement for a game which will be on the show floor but has yet to be announced to the gaming world. It’s hard to tell from such a short twitter post, and it is for this very reason why we’ve slapped the rumour tag in the headline. Either way, we’ll have some for of clarification/confirmation soon…

A new RB6 (a new installment not set in Vegas, btw) was confirmed a long time ago.

And then about a minute afterward this was posted:

Yes i agree Please bring out another Rainbow six, games like call of duty and bad company are so popular i’m surprised it hasn’t been done already, or atleast bring out new levels for the rainbow six vegas 2, or even just put the first R.6 vegas terrorist hunt levels in the second so we all have more levels to play.

There are still so many people playing Rainbow online.

Agreed, it’s the only realistic shooter on the market. I still play both all the time. Vegas is tired though I say move it to another city.

I check every week for new R6 news….. and nothing… COD is so run ‘n gun. GRAW is slow (and futuristic). Please bring back Modern day tactics, where players need to work as a team to win. COD / Battlefield is everyman for himself, and that gets old. Or even release new maps for R6V2. Get out of Vegas for a bit. Load in some ol’ skool – garage, estate, training grounds.. etc…

    Grenada!

I have always loved the RBS games, and only recently did i take RSV2 of my dusty shelf to replace MW2. In my mind it still far more exciting and a far greater challenge to be good at. I hope Ubisoft notice that people still loved RSV2 and either make new maps or even go as far as making a RSV3, heres a hint make it split screen online. I love Vegas 2 for its split screen terrorist hunt sitting there with your pals screaming at the tv. Its only Fifa that lets me do that now, So make a RSV3 already!

RSV3 news awesome, keep it comin’ guys! Much is to be expected from this upcoming title, but still Ubisoft needs to keep up to date with their previous work. Especially when they brought the franchise back over to the PS. Moving RSV2 to the PS3 was a great move and also one to be expected, but without the additional content the game needs gamers are still at somewhat of a lose. It’s not too late though, RSV2 is still alive and well as previously mentioned and deserves a good comeback. DLC with help rejuvenate the crowds and retain all that had left simply wanting more. Also what better way to say thx to their loyal supporters and to the welcoming of yet another solid FPS experience. Yea, yeah! Ubisoft deserves the all the wait for their next installment, but it’s about time we’ve gotten ours! Patch up a couple old maps. There are more then a few good maps still availible from RSV1 that are a bit larger and would make good use of the sprint feature. The reason for more CQB is beyond me, I believe there is plenty strategy already, but if not there are at least more ways to encourage it without decreasing the map size. All maps should incorporate use of back alleys, underground sewers, trenched out rubble, buildings with rooftops and perhaps means of quick travel with use of ziplines to cross certain terrain. Lol, ziplines optional. These features are essential for not just one but multiple ways of flanking your opponents. Of course long-range battles tie into this idea as well and usually find there way into all RBS titles but not as much recently. Well, who knows what to really expect from Ubisoft, other then a great experience. Love the franchise, still one of the best. RBS forever!

We so need another RBS game but Please Please no more vegas and open warehouse type scenarios, we really need the first ever realistic plane hostage rescue level, and a bit more sophistication with team ordering, bring back back 4 man team. Hotswap would be the ultimate.
