151937-elder copy

The first chapter in the new Elder Scrolls Novel, The Infernal City, has been shown on the Random House Inc webpage. This novel, written by Greg Keyes, is set four decades after the Oblivion game, which will tie in with the story of the upcoming fifth installment. Here is their brief description of the novel:

Four decades after the Oblivion Crisis, Tamriel is threatened anew by an ancient and all-consuming evil. It is Umbriel, a floating city that casts a terrifying shadow–for wherever it falls, people die and rise again.

And it is in Umbriel’s shadow that a great adventure begins, and a group of unlikely heroes meet. A legendary prince with a secret. A spy on the trail of a vast conspiracy. A mage obsessed with his desire for revenge. And Annaig, a young girl in whose hands the fate of Tamriel may rest . . . .

So if you’re longing to have your thirst for Elder Scrolls  quenched, and can’t wait until the next installment of the series, you should consider checking out this novel when it releases on the 24th of November.

Awesome, thanks for the info on this. I wasn’t even aware of there being a book. I usually think stuff like this is lame, but this is the kind of game that actually deserves to have books.

No problem, I forgot to add in that this is the first in two books that’s being published. I’m not entirely sure whether this continues into the second or if it’s a different sort of storyline. I loved Oblivion but I don’t know if I will get this book…

I love reading, so I’m sure I’ll eventually add this to my oversized library.
