Bethesda Softworks and Obsidian Entertainment have released the debut trailer for Fallout: New Vegas. Coinciding with the trailer is the announcement of a Fall 2010 release window for the upcoming post-apocalyptic RPG.
The Fallout: New Vegas debut trailer follows the same mold as that of Fallout 3’s a few years ago – the tune of a classic lounge song plays in the background while the camera continuously pans out to reveal more destruction. This is not surprising considering that while Fallout: New Vegas will not be a sequel to Fallout 3, it will take place in the same universe.
Fallout: New Vegas is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks.

You’re totally awesome for posting that. I’m so freakin’ excited for this game. I’m excited about the thought of revisiting NCR and the possibility of some of the old stats/abilities coming back. And even these new Wall-E TV-head robots look kinda cool. This might be one game I actually pre-order this year. Oh, and for the record, the way this trailer was done (old music, panning out, etc.) it pretty much how they’ve always done it for Fallout. But in my mind, nothing will beat the opening video for the first game. Fantastic.

Haha, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Once they released this trailer, I knew I had to post it. As for the trailer techniques, I just wanted to make the point that this game is taking place in the same universe as Fallout 3, so it fits well that they kept the style intact. I was already looking forward to this game, but after seeing this I am totally pumped.

Yeah, gotcha. And I agree, I’m definitely more excited after seeing this teaser. I’m especially excited over the idea of this being more like the old games. Obviously, it’s going to look drastically different, but I’m used to grittier and funnier storylines, and I’ve always felt that Fallout just belongs on the west coast.
