Recent evidence has come to suggest that the 120 gigabyte hard-drive could be discontinued for the Xbox 360. Eurogamer released a news post earlier this week discussing a price drop for the hard-drive by Microsoft, who were quoted on saying “In Europe, the 120GB Hard Drive is available for an ERP of €129.99 / £79.99 while supplies last“.
Now while this may not be sufficient evidence to confirm the demise of the 120 gigabyte hard-drive, we can’t forget the 250 gigabyte version that was released in addition with the Modern Warfare 2 console pack way back in November. The 250 gigabyte version is now available for standalone purchase in Japan but has yet to hit the Western markets.
One could openly assume that this is a test run to see how well the memory unit is received by the Orient audience, though how long it will be until it hits our shelves and more importantly when it does, will that mean the end of its smaller brethren?
We can only wait and see, stay tuned for updates.
