Details On Gamestop Xbox 360 “Slim” Trade-In Promo

As you’ve all heard over the last few days, a new Xbox 360 model has been announced at E3 2010 and demand for it has been ridiculous. According to my friend, an employee at my local Gamestop, they have gotten over a hundred calls each day since the announcement, regarding the ability to reserve the console, when the store will get their shipment in, and what time they should show up to have a chance at nabbing one. But the most question asked has been, “Will there be an upgrade promotion?” Today, a Gamestop email to store managers has been leaked, and what is believed to be price values for the upgrade promo have been discovered.

A writer for Games Are Evil took the following picture of an email his local Gamestop had received regarding official trade-in values:

According to this email, the values are as follows:

250gb HDD – $50

256mb Memory Card – $14

512mb Memory Card – $18

It’s worth noting that these are promotional prices only, and not the new permanent values. You will only take advantage of these increased trade-ins if you are trading towards the new console.

I hope retailers over here in the UK take note of this, I can think of many people (possibly including myself) who would be happy to trade up to a new model of 360, but don’t want to go through the trouble of selling their current one.

I am not a young gamer…I been at it since Doom so I guess that would be about 1994, HOWever I read many a comment on the SLIM…maybe what I am gonna say will offend some of the younger gamers…I have gone though three generations of Xboxes I did a tour on Nintendo also That was Golden Eye , one h… of a great game…But I have two old Xboxes…a white one that had to be sent in for a serious service job…but it is not costing me anything…I treat my game platforms with care…they all work even the old Nintendo. I think lots of the problems are created by the user, trying to do a gaming marathon, wearing depends, If you were a rather expensive piece of hard ware, you’d burn up or break down…too…Lots of complaints I read, concerned the heating up…Well I found that if you down load the game to the HD it will run cooler…Oh to be assured it will heat up…but it won’t be so bad it will leave burn marks on your hand…Turn the damn thing off it it cool down
NO game is that important that…ya need to bitch out Microsoft, if you persist…as they say, build a better game platform…But as for me…well I like the Halo group, I got them all, I play them all…Cause I got an 2 old Xboxs and they play good too. Oh I know you younger guys will say who the hell is this guy. However, don’t take it all to heart. I know there are a gugazillion gamers out there. But Microsoft ain’t so bad, and no they aren’t paying me to say this…Although… When I was a kid I bought most of my toys…I learned to respect them…Happy gaming GUYS…oh and gals too.
