Best Video Game Vehicles

Video game vehicles always seem so much cooler than normal ones, and they really should be cool since no hero is going to be caught dead in a Ford Pinto. These “rides” that game characters show off can range from average (with cool looks) to futuristic. And that’s all a part of being a hero: having a vehicle to back up your personality. G3 checks out some of the coolest “rides” in video games, starting off with “old reliable” and ending off with a ship that could give the Millennium Falcon a Kessel run for its money.

Epona (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)
As far as vehicles go, Epona is simple but awesome. While a car or a spaceship is faster and can house more sufficient firepower, Epona gives style and companionship. And while she might not be fitted with weapons of any sort, she will help you get from point A to point B while making your way across the beautiful fields of Hyrule. Also, she’s there for Link anytime he needs to face Gannondorf and his steed.

I would have called it the Puma, just like the guys at Rooster Teeth, but I digress: the Warthog is still great. It’s a three seater with turret on the back for entering rough situations and since it happens to be so quiet (and since it’s the future) I think the Warthog might have an electric motor. So it can take some serious terrain, mow down dozens of Covenant aliens and it also gets great mileage: What a car!

Too bad for Jimmy Gibs Jr, but so lucky for you in the middle of a zombie invasion.

If slow moving zombies are your problem, then why not drive a racing car through the swarms of the undead? Seems like an obvious idea, right? Well, the cast of Left 4 Dead 2 thought this was a good idea too and it did get them away from dangerous ground (for a little while) and the car does look slick. Also, it would give millions of Americans the chance to drive in a NASCAR type car, and we all know how great it is to drive fast…especially when zombies are involved.

The Normandy SR-2 (Mass Effect 2)
The pinnacle of human space technology in a nutshell would be the Normandy SR-2. It improved on the already stunning performance of the original Normandy from Mass Effect with Cerberus upgrading the weapons, shields, maneuverability, armor and medical bay. With all of the improvements; this ship can lead massive attacks and leave with minimal damage. So thank goodness (and an Ace pilot like Joker) and the Normandy, because when Mass Effect 3 rolls around; Commander Shepard will need all the help he can get against the Reapers.
