Fallout: New Vegas was released just Tuesday in North America and just yesterday in Europe. New Vegas is about the player being betrayed and left for dead. After being patched up by the doctor while simultaneously creating your character, you’re left with an option before heading out of the operations room. To switch Hardcore mode on (which isn’t recommended) or keep it off and play the game Fallout 3 style.
Hardcore mode is where the developer Obsidian decided on making New Vegas that bit more difficult and interesting or annoying? You consistently have to keep hydrated, eating food, sleeping and you cannot fast travel if the distance will make you sick of dehydration. Your Stimpaks also do not heal instantly but overtime and your bullets can add weight to your inventory.
When prompted to choose if the player would like to switch on or off Hardcore mode at the beginning of the game, a message appears informing the player that there will be a special reward waiting for them upon completion.
The special award is….drum roll please. The Hardcore trophy/achievement. Unfortunately, yeah that is it. So there you have it, a kick in the ass. Check back for our full Fallout: New Vegas review.

You know why playing FPS through PC is better? Because, you aim with your mouse like you’re really holding out your weapon, not like the PS controller which gives you a hard time to aim precisely, as a matter of fact, fighting outside VATS using a PS controller is considered, suicidal, unless you’re a fucking god who’s good at aiming using PS controllers. What am I trying to say? “PC gamers aim more deliberately precise than you PS3′ers. And guys like you, only rely on automated targeting like VATS.”
Now that is a FACT.

i played the game on pc, and i play other games xbox360 regularly. u dont hav to be a “fucking god” to be able to aim precisely on a game console controller. take those halo “fucking god” snipers. the good ones get killamongaro (or however u spell that) constantly. tho i do find the playstation controllers to be a pain in the ass.
but if ur exclusively dissing PS controllers, then just pretend my comment wasnt a reply to urs

That’s not true, I played Fallout 3 on the X-Box and didn’t touch VATS for the whole entire game on Hard AND Hardcore mode. It kept popping up in the corner telling me that it was mapped to the left stick click. :\
But I totally agree with you, it’s much better on pC. I just wish that mine could run it… >:

You’re lying, Fallout 3 doesn’t have Hardcore mode.

if u can even go thru normal mode without touching VATS, then u’ll prove Caesar right, cz u’ll be a “fucking god”. dude, u dont hav to try and prove urself a good aimer by claiming to hav not touched VATS the entire game. i love sniping without VATS, and in all the other sweet games like CS and Halo (1, 2, 3, Reach), but i use VATS cz its cinematic scenes are just awesome. take a breather man! enjoy it for wt it is!

i thot hardcore mode made the game much more interesting. it gives so much more factors to keep in mind, and makes the post-apocalypse *simulation* so much more real. i just finished the game, and i dont feel like going back and playing the extensions immediately after that awesome end-game narration. and i thot the narration was the hardcore bonus before i saw this page. lol.
and just some thots: @Caesar: i played the game on pc, and i play other games xbox360 regularly. u dont hav to be a “fucking god” to be able to aim precisely on a game console controller. take those halo “fucking god” snipers. the good ones get killamongaro (or however u spell that) constantly. tho i do find the playstation controllers to be a pain in the ass.

id like to take a moment to point out that fallout 3/new vegas uses an aiming system based on fallout 2′s aiming system, which was turn based, accuracy was based on distastance X skill level = hit percentage, this equation happens every time you fire your weapon, in vats or not, which is why sniping from a distance with no skill in guns is impossible no matter how good a shot you actually are…. id understand if you were playing a fps to argue about mouse vs controller, but fallout is based on a turn based rpg strategy game, (fallout and fallout 2), and uses their combat system, though they have moved to a more real time feel, your still playing with turn based statistics… so if you suck at aiming in fallout 3 or new vegas, try upping your skill with the weapon, honestly try just going into third person and taking random pot shots at the enemy, its almost always just as effective as aiming depending on distance. thank you for your time

Ok stop arguing about this its just silly and beating hardcore mode.Getting a trophy or a achievement is a bit bad because how about when you start a new game after beating hardcore mode you get something new like a weapon thats not TO OP (Over Powered)
i mean that would be nice and stop arguing about PC or XBOX or PS3 (i kinda like PC because you can move freely with V.A.T.S) (don’t argue abot V.A.T.S its really awesome to see the bullets just Kill someone like that i use V.A.T.S) when i am doing V.A.T.S its just i want to get somewhere fast enough kill it faster like cazadors (those things Suck so much o_o ) and deathclaws but really stop arguing about which gaming (console) is better im 13 too just saying just don’t Bitch about it and i am typing better then the other 13 year old who commented anyway stop bothering about what YOU play just comment on how you thought about the game

Fallout NV isn’t as good as fallout 3 obviously..but Fallout NV mods are what make the game like RTS (Real Time Strategy) i do think PC version of Fallout NV is better than console versions just because of mods and it is fairly easy to play the game without V.A.T.S for the PS3 just change the view speed
and btw Fallout 3 does have Hardcore mode if you download Lone Wanderers Edition at nexus

And if anyone who owns a console and wants to download mods..you only get 3 mods for console and its a massive pain to get them T-T

Really? Really!? No one challenges themselves just for the sheer enjoyment of doing the impossible(Not literally of course). Geez its not like you lost anything? Im pretty sure you gain some pride and some respect for your own capabilities. If thats not enough then I guess you’re just a smuck always expecting to be rewarded when you do something.

Why is everyone arguing over console and PC? I play this on the PS3, but I agree the PC is better, It’s better for most games because you can custom build your PC. I get sick of my PS3 freezing during games, and struggling to run games.
Anyway, its people opinions, no need to get aggressive “Eat your moms shit” it just shows you’re still a child. If you think PC is better, then play it, if you think PS3 is better, than play it. Feeling the need to boast about PC/PS3 is stupid, you’re all hipsters. Not to mention you’re all underage children who shouldnt even play games if you just troll the internet.
Btw Francis Buff, when you get a big 50 year old man raping you, dont cry about it, after all you asked for your pre-puberty penis to be sucked. You have a hard chest? Should probably get that checked out. Thats not normal.
