An Unreleased Gem Found

aliens21 An Unreleased Gem FoundBuried deep beneath a mound of pirated crap-games that continuously plague Nintendo; crushed like coal and forgotten about for twenty-four years, a diamond has been found, returned to the surface and it’s a big one.

Back in the day a new company [at the time] called just ” Square” created an Aliens game based on the movie for Nintendo.  The game was licensed and released for the Famicom Disk System.  For those that don’t know, the Famicom system was the Japanese version of the NES we grew up with, but as aforementioned the Famicom had a Disk System and the U.S. version [which didn't] wasn’t compatible to accept the upgrade, therefore the title got canned for the American NES.

The side-scroller had only five levels, and is based off the film Aliens.  The player takes on the role of Ripley who’s sole mission is to kill the mother alien and save Newt.

1up.com says that the title wasn’t completely unreleased in America; a version was made for the MSX computer.

Although the game was legitimately licensed by Nintendo, it swims up stream with all the other unlicensed fishes..

Good luck pirates.
