It wasn’t that long ago that I was drooling over my first images of Oblivion, the first time I saw the world map for it I fell in love. The game world had so much going for it; the snowy mountains, sandy beaches, wooded forests, and swamps.. Nobody likes the swamps.
With the world map for the next chapter in the Elder Scrolls series The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim being posted recently on ElderScrolls.net I couldn’t help but get excited to dig into this map and check out every little detail that Bethesda has put into it, because you know that Bethesda has poured a lot of love into making this the most immersive world it can be. It would a travesty if I left any stone unturned, any cave unexplored, any dragon left alive to try and swoop down and take me out.
For those that don’t have any back history on the land of Skyrim or the Elder Scrolls world. Skyrim is home to the hearty Nord people. The previous game Oblivion takes place in the homeland of the Imperials known as Cyrodiil where the Imperial capital city is. Both of these countries are part of a larger landmass known as Tamriel. From what has been released by Bethesda the land of Skyrim should be roughly equal in size to that of Cyrodiil, which means lots of pretty landscape for you and me to enjoy.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be released on November 11th, 2011 for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360
Without further ado, behold the map that is Skyrim!
