As the rumours began to generate and the leaks began to spill out, it became clearer and clearer that Bioware had to address the public on the much rumoured “online multiplayer” modes, that are to be included in Mass Effect 3 and today they’ve done just that. Bioware announced on their forums that the game will feature up to 4 player co-op as well as a whole range of other ways to interact with friends through the game, that are yet to be announced. Named the “Galaxy at War” system, players will be able to “explore and fight alongside your friends in the Mass Effect universe”. The Co-op mode is being developed by Bioware Montreal and will give players the opportunity to play as non human races for the first time in the Mass Effect universe, it will also feature RPG elements such as character development and weapon upgrading that have been seen in a number of other online multiplayer games. What do you think of the addition of Co-op? Will it take away from the single player experience? Find out when Mass Effect 3 is released on the 6th March 2012.
