2011 Biggest Disappointment of The Year.
-Duke Nukem Forever-
Our biggest disappointment of the year is easily Duke Nukem Forever. This game has been in development ever since I can remember and when it was finally released to the masses, it looked extremely unpolished. We think that this game could have used another 11 years of development and then maybe it would have been a decent game.
2011 Shooter of The Year.
-Gears of War 3-
Our choice for shooter of the year is a game that provided a satisfying last chapter to one of the most beloved gaming franchises of all time. Our pick is none other than Epic Games’ Gears of War 3. The story in Gears 3 took massive steps from where the storytelling was in the first Gears with a thrilling plot and it even tugged at your heartstrings here and there(DOM!!). The single player was brilliant and the additions to multiplayer and horde and beast modes were also extremely welcome upgrades. Bravo Epic Games, keep em coming!
2011 Shooter Honorable Mention
-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3-
What can you really say about Modern Warfare 3? It is easily one of the best shooters of the year with an awesome ending to the campaign, and the always addictive multiplayer. MW3 would have gotten GOTY if it wasn’t for Gears 3.
