UPDATE: It has now been confirmed that this new Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition is going to be a retelling of the original Baldur’s Gate. The good folks over at Overhaul Games have stated that we’re not just remaking Bioware’s original game, “We’re adding new original content in the spirit of the original game,” they also said as well “maintaining all the awesome that is Baldur’s Gate.” This new team of developers who will be taking on this mammoth of a task is comprised of some fresh faces to the Baldur’s Gates series, as well as some veterans who worked on the original titles.
It has also been confirmed that Baldur’s Gate II Enhanced Edition will be released at a later date. There is still no screenshots or video available to truly see what it is that Overhaul Games is doing with this beloved RPG Classic. One thing is known for sure though, both titles are being developed on a “re-forged version of the Infinity Engine.” Whatever that means…

It’s official, the ticker over on the new Baldur’s Gate website has officially ticked it’s last second away, revealing that there is a new Baldur’s Gate property on the way.
All we know so far is that this new title is named Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition, that it’s being developed by Overhaul Games, and that is coming Summer 2012.
As soon as we know something more, news worthy, you will be the first ones to know!
