Sure, we’ve seen the memories and tributes that people can make in the insanely popular indie sandbox game Minecraft. Someone has even made a working 16-bit ALU designed entirely in the game. But you’ve never seen anything quite like this before. From the mind of Nick “Nario” Hagman, known for playing through retro video games on a DDR Dance Pad, comes a completely faithful recreation of the NES classic Castlevania.
Brick by brick, Hagman spend 37 straight days working on the project, for at least 3 hours each of those days. That’s over 100+ hours just building the entire world, which doesn’t even come close to including the numerous practice runs, recording sessions, and the time it took to edit the final video together. “I love Castlevania. I’ve even beaten it on a dance pad, and now I’ve made the game in Minecraft as a tribute to my love for the game,” says Hagman. It’s definitely an amazing addition to the tributes that have been created in Minecraft, and we can’t wait to see what he decides to do next.
