Just when you think you’re out, Nintendo pulls you back in! Now that things are starting to wind down on the regular Wii, new rumors are starting to swirl about the pricing of the successor to the Wii, the Wii U.
Citing sources “closely involved with manufacturing and distributing Nintendo products” Montreal based news/culture blog Forget the Box is reporting that the Wii U is set to be priced at $300. Why $300 you say? Well the sources are claiming that the total building cost of one Wii U is around $180, with the controller alone costing about $50 to make. The source says that the final cost is still up for debate, but it is looking more and more like it will be coming in at $300.
I’ve contacted Nintendo about these rumors, but they have yet to get back to me. Stay tuned to Go!GamingGiant for any more news on Nintendo’s Wii U!
