There may not be a more polarizing Playstation Exclusive title than Heavy Rain. You either loved it or you hated it (I personally absolutely loved it). This has been the case with Quantic Dream’s titles over the last few years (all two of them), and has lead to a lot of questions about when their next game will be announced, and what type of game it will be.
Luckily it’s looking like we may finally get the answer to that question next week at E3, thanks to CVG having a “trusted senior development source” that states David Cage is ready to reveal to the world the next ground breaking (we hope) title by Quantic Dream. That announcement ‘should’ be made on June 4th at the Sony Press Conference.
Earlier this year, David Cage of Quantic Dream showed off their newest engine at GDC. This engine, which showed the ‘Kara’ demo, was rumored to be part of their next project. Cage and co. quickly quelled these rumors by stating that the Kara demo is only a tech demo, not footage or models or anything of the sort that is being used in their next title.
To go along with this interesting news, CVG’s source also states that Quantic Dream is working on two more “separate mystery projects” for Sony. These may or may not both be for the Playstation 3, but David Cage did go on record stating that he wants to continue to work with the PS3 for another five years.
That’s quite a bit to digest. Not only is Quantic Dream using a brand new state-of-the-art engine for their next title, which may or may not be announced next Monday. But they’re also working on two secret projects for Sony as well, which may or may not be on the Playstation 3.. Should make for an interesting Sony Press Conference!
