E3 2012: Day One Wrap-Up (Part Two – Ubisoft & Sony)

Ok, so it was more than a few hours between part one and part two of the day one wrap-up. But in my defense, there was a lot of excellent content yesterday, so splitting it up by 12+ hours isn’t too bad.

Like part one, this will be split up by Press Conference, and if you click on the name of the Press Conference, it will take you to a re-stream of the entire conference. I take no credit for the conference streams or the upcoming trailers.

Ubisoft Press Conference

The Ubisoft Conference this year was extremely strong. Not only did they show off Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3, but they also revealed an entirely new IP named Watch Dogs that looked flat out amazing. Overall, if it wasn’t for how strong Sony’s Press Conference was, Ubisoft would’ve taken the crown in my opinion.

Watch Dogs – TBA

Assassin’s Creed III – 10/30/2012

Far Cry 3 - 9/4/2012

Just Dance 4 - 10/4/2012

Rayman Legends – TBA

Sony Press Conference

Sony really hit a home run this year (factoring out the Wonderbook debacle). The showings of God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, and Beyond: Two Souls really put Sony on top this year. Sure they talked up all sorts of different things they’re doing with the Vita and Playstation 3 to make it more Social and whatever, but the game showcases are really where they shined, especially when they lifted the veil on an all-new Assassin’s Creed title made specifically for the Vita (which comes bundled with a brand new white Vita).

For those of you who haven’t seen the trailer for Beyond: Two Souls (Quantic Dream’s new title) check it out. It amazes me that Quantic Dream still amazes me… it doesn’t matter what kind of game they make, it always lures you in, and then refuses to let you go.

God of War: Ascension – 3/12/2013

Assassin’s Creed III – 10/30/2012

The Last of Us – TBA 2012/2013

Beyond: Two Souls – TBA

Assassin’s Creed III Liberation – 10/30/2012

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royal – Winter 2012
