When Terminal Velocity Goes Wrong
As of late there have been a number of fan-made renditions of popular video-games going viral, and good amount of replicas to match – some that actually work; including a recent video of a functioning ‘Portal’ turret.
This time another fan-made ‘Portal’ video is getting massive attention, and in it you will witness how dangerous a real life ‘Portal’ gun really is. This three minute short is made by Jason Craft, a Visual Effects and Motion Graphics Artist and lead Compositor for ‘GhOst Productions’.
And believe me – this is something to behold, and one of the most creative if not ‘the’ most creative, and believable fan-made video I’ve seen so far.
No Easy Feat
Craft mentions in a youtube video that he wanted to mimic ‘Portal’ as closely as possible.
This was the most challenging project I have ever undertaken, consisting of 3-D tracking, seamless camera cuts and 3-D camera projection
