Hello and welcome to another edition of The Geekly Roundup! We took the week off last week to recover from the madness that was E3, but we’re back and it’ll be full steam ahead from here on out! We’ve got some sad/nerdy television news and a small review for the return of Falling Skies! So without further adieu, let’s get this thing started!
News
-The first item on my agenda is some sad news out of the Cartoon Network camp about one of the better shows that I have seen in some time. Cartoon Network’s reboot of the classic action series ‘The Thundercats’ , launched in 2011, has been one of the better shows put out by the CN in recent years and has seen much critical acclaim. Even from the faithful Thundercat………erians. Even with the love for this show, it appears that The Cats are on their way out of the network as it has been completely excluded from their programming schedule for next season. No official word has been given by Cartoon Network as to the fate of the show, but it’s not looking good at this point. Unfortunately, shows rarely make it through if it has been omitted from CN’s programming schedule. Is this the end of the Thundercats? I hope not.

So Falling Skies is back this week! The first season was quite the surprise if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly suggest that you go back and check it out. The show was back this week after being off the air since last summer and it came back with a bang. The first night consisted of two back to back episodes to form one glorious hour of this awesome alien action drama. The episode picked up three months after the events of last season’s finale with the Resistance’s Second Mass coalition ambushing Skitter troops in the city. After the group stumbles across Tom(Noah Wyle), they take him back to camp and instantly start to fear what the aliens had done to his brain. That’s about all that I want to give away of the story, but I really enjoyed the first episode(s) of this second season. Whenever I watch this show, I can’t help but feel like this needs to be on the big screen. I’m not real sure how or why they would do that, but the special effects in this series are definitely worthy of a movie theater. If you are into science fiction or alien type shows of any kind, definitely check this one out! It air Sunday nights at 10pm EST on TNT!
No comic review this week unfortunately, I am still backlogged the last week and a half. I will be hitting everything that I’m behind on this coming week, so look for an extended Comic Review section next week!
Until then, stay gold.
