When I heard that Dark Souls was coming to PC I was ecstatic. I love Demon’s Souls, and the chance to play Dark Souls on the PC sounded like a dream come true. Then I thought about the hardware that may be required to play Dark Soul’s in its’ full glory, and that was a bit scary.
Luckily today the PC Requirements were released for Dark Souls, showing that the game only takes a moderate gaming rig, in fact if you had a high-end rig back in 2008, you’ll be perfectly set for Dark Souls!
OS: Windows XP , Windows Vista, Windows 7, or newer
Processor: 2.6 GHz Dual-Core
Memory: 1 GB (XP), 2GB (Vista/7)
Hard Disk Space: 4 GB
Video Card: 512 MB RAM, ATI Radeon 4850 or higher, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT or higher
DirectX®: 9.0c
Sound: Direct Sound Compatible
The only question in my mind now is not if my rig will be able to run it, but how well optimized the game will be. Here’s to hoping that this isn’t a lazy port!
Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition will hit Steam August 24, and will include a brand new expansion named Artorias of the Abyss, which will then be sold as DLC for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
