A game with destructible environments; 2 points.
A game where just about everything is slice able; 10 points.
A game where where just about everything is slice-able – including the clothing off a cardboard women…priceless.

If you can find them – Kojima made (and produced) games tend to reward the meticulous/curious gamers with subtle surprises like this, but this isn’t your typical Easter egg.
You can witness the de-robing near the ’1:41′ mark of this game-play ‘tutorial’ video, but of course – the purpose of this video is to show-off the much talked about ‘Blade Mode’ for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Creative struggles abound last year (like getting the slicing mechanic and destructible environments to work correctly in tandem) prior to ‘The Rebirth‘ project is a distance memory now. And even though the release is months away – MGR: R looks ready and willing today!
The mechanics of ‘Blade-mode’ seem easy enough too:
- HOLD LT: for Blade Mode
- RS: changes the angle of the slice
- LS: changes the direction of the slice/camera control
- Releasing RS: swings Raiden’s sword
Putting this to use in the heat of battle, which you’ll see briefly in the video, looks very rewarding – not to mention badass!
