Set for release on December 6th for $199.99, the Neo Geo Gold X handheld console (manufactured by Blaze and licensed by SNK) comes with 20 pre-installed games, expandable memory card slot (reported as taking standard SD cards) and is equipped with four buttons and a 4.3 inch screen. Remember these pocket hand-helds by NEO GEO? If you don’t – know worries, because they didn’t do so well, and compared to the NGX: Gold – these sucked, but where great while they lasted (which wasn’t long)!

First of all – There are only two buttons, and the games weren’t all that great (if memory serves correctly). Luckily the color version replaced the monochrome, but again…big whoop!
Looking at these can only make you appreciate the new handheld even more, but only time will tell if it will be worth your $200 greenbacks.
We’ll keep you posted.
