In today’s crowded gaming industry, there are very few games that are exclusive to their original consoles/platforms. You can get just about any game on any platform with a few exceptions here and there. While these games are available over multiple consoles, sometimes it just seems wrong to play certain games on the “wrong” system. Here are some games that should be played on their native brand, even though they are available on almost everything else. Keep in mind that this is only my opinion and you should play whatever game on whatever console you want!
Mass Effect
The first Mass Effect was released for the Xbox 360 way back in 2007 with both sequels seeing releases on the console as well. The Mass Effect series has also been released on the Playstation 3 starting with the second game. Considering the fact that you can’t even play the first title on the Playstation 3 instantly makes Mass Effect a game that should be played strictly on the Xbox 360.
Metal Gear Solid
Now the Metal Gear series is a bit of a wild card. Almost every game for this series has been released for Sony Playstation platforms, but that is soon to change with the upcoming release of ‘Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance’ on the Xbox 360. Something just doesn’t seem right about navigating Hideo Kojima’s world with an Xbox 360 controller.
MMORPG’s In General
This entry isn’t a specific game, but I felt that it should be included as it is the only no-brainer of the list. Developer’s have been attempting to bring MMORPG‘s to consoles for years now and have fallen short time and time again. The physical controllers that make consoles what they are will never allow for proper MMO…….ing on a home console. We’re pleading with you developer’s, keep MMO’s on PC!
Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy is a bit of a strange case since the franchise originally made it’s debut on a Nintendo platform. However, the Final Fantasy series really hit it’s stride once it made it’s way onto the Sony Playstation family of consoles. The franchise finally made the crossover to the Xbox 360 with the release of Final Fantasy 13, but a part of me dies inside a little when I see the Final Fantasy logo directly under the green Xbox 360 case logo. Besides that, the Final Fantasy series is famous for it’s visuals and they shine even more when combined with the power of the Blu Ray disc. So do us a favor and play Final Fantasy on the Playstation 3!
Now again, these are only my opinions. What do you guys think? Can you see yourself controlling a Final Fantasy character with an Xbox controller? Let us know what other games should be on this list and we’ll see about making a part 2!
