Halloween-a-thon: Slender the Game

Its October again and with another year old terrifying games has graced our consoles and PCs. So now Go!GamingGiant is getting into the Halloween spirit by listing some of the best horror themed games that you can check out to scare your pants off. And if you get too scared, there’s no shame in sleeping with a light on.

Slender
The Slender Man story is an urban legend as old as time…and by that I mean that it was created on the Something Awful forums during a contest to “Create Paranormal Images.” So while there is no real urban legend for the Slender Man, this myths and misconceptions of the source material can be enough to fool your friends into believing that it’s a real urban legend.

Well now I know not to take this short cut again.

As far as the game goes: it is pure terror in every sense of the phrase. Slender offers minimal guidance and no story with basic controls such as walk and run. While your character does have a flashlight, it is not meant as a source of safety since the Slender Man will track your light and find you faster.

Slender man isn’t in this photo, but that just means he’s probably behind you.

This indie game was created by Parsec Productions and it is a perfect example of how the term “survival horror” is truly based around surviving since you cannot fight the Slender Man or even beat the game in general.
If you only get to play one horror video game this Halloween season: Slender should be the game to fill your horror quota.

I’m glad to see Slender getting some love Ray. I love the mythos, as well as the game. Hope the upcoming full release will be just as terrifying.
