  • Blunders of the Gaming Age: Resident Evil-Based Entertainment Part One 0 CommentsPosted by John on August 1, 2009 under Columns
We remember most, if not, all of the Resident Evil games. Why? Pretty much everyone who has played them ended up loving them to a certain extent. So what do they do? Three movies and six books. This entry will be covering what is technically the first two books of the franchise's story, Resident Evil: Zero Hour and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy. (more...)... more.
  • Blunders of the Gaming Age: Doom Novels 3 CommentsPosted by John on July 25, 2009 under Columns
Sorry about this not being up and starting on Wednesday. Some school stuff popped up and well sometimes you've got to decide to write for work or finish off that assignment in one of your last remaining classes before you have your B.A. or B.S. depending on what you're studying. Anyway, the topic for this entry is a four parnter technically. It's four books that's going to be condensed into a sing... more.
  • Blunders of the Gaming Age: Empire in Chaos 0 CommentsPosted by John on July 20, 2009 under Columns
What do you think of when you think of the gaming franchises of Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000? You think of epic scale battles and destruction. You think of rich lore covering thousands and thousands of years. You also think of political commentary on the futility of war, no matter how honorable the pursuit. Does the novelization of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR), titled Empire in Chaos,... more.
  • Asteroids to be Adapted to Film 2 CommentsPosted by John on July 17, 2009 under Articles, News
It's true. It was recently revealed that Universal Studios apparently won a four-studio bidding war for the rights to adapt the game Asteroids to film. Understandably it left quite a few people wondering, is this a joke? It's hard to say what's good or bad about this. (more...)... more.
  • Blunders of the Gaming Age: Postal the Movie 0 CommentsPosted by John on under Columns
OK. Last time I covered what has been called the worst game to ever blight the game industry, E.T. Now, it's time to bash though one of things to have been the worst, scarring feature of both film and the game industry. That is Uwe Boll. To be more specific, it's time to dig out a DVD copy of Postal and take it to the firing range. (more...)... more.

The movie E.T. was a great and moving movie. There's no other way of putting it. Unfortunately, the game that was based off the film really was pretty bad. (more...)... more.
  • Blunders of the Gaming Age: Twilight 2013 0 CommentsPosted by John on July 13, 2009 under Columns
Twilight 2000 was a bit of a benchmark for pen-and-paper RPGs. It took a real world, post-World War III setting while making your characters military heroes. It was fun and not that hard to get into. Recently a bit of a sequel from 93 Games Studio titled Twilight 2013. Does it stand up though? (more...)... more.
  • Blunders of the Gaming Age: Alone in the Dark 5 for PC 0 CommentsPosted by John on July 11, 2009 under Columns
I loved the Alone in the Dark series for quite a few reasons. It had great stories, chilling imagery and was the franchise that brought around survival horror as we know. Then Alone in the Dark 5 came out and something changed. The fun and enthusiasm for the franchise just dwindled, almost completely disappearing. While there are some good things about the game, for the PC-version it's mostly ... more.
  • Blunders of the Gaming Age: Heroes of the Lance 1 CommentsPosted by John on July 8, 2009 under Columns
We all know about Dungeons & Dragons to a certain extent. Being a gamer who started off with video games and branched into tabletop after playing games like Icewind Dale, I'd learned quite a bit about D&D before I officially started the tabletop version of the game. In terms of the video game adaptation, there are high points and low points, none lower than AD&D: Heroes of the Lanc... more.
