0 CommentsPosted by Caleb on August 15, 2009 under News
This week starts the slow trickle of great fall releases with Wolfenstein for the PC, PS3, and 360. Also, Shadow Complex will be available to the gaming masses this Wednesday. I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot about that game from Jacob's review and article coming up this week. It's Metroidvania style of gameplay had me hooked the second I saw it at E3. To wrap up the big releases this week,... more. -
A Dying World?

This is an edited version of a post I wrote for my blog shortly after Final Fantasy XIV was announced: What would you do if you knew your world was coming to an end in one year, only to be replaced by a bigger, better world? This is a question that is on the minds of thousands of Final Fantasy XI players today. Our precious Vana’diel will soon be overshadowed by a new world, Eorzea. It... more.

Gamescom 2009 Preview

July’s E3 opened this year’s convention season with a bang. Coming up a week from today is the next big event in the gaming industry. Gamescom in Cologne is stealing the thunder normally reserved for Leipzig Games Convention, which fizzled this year as Game Convention Online. Luckily, with the promise of some big name titles from some big name companies, it seems that Gamescom will fill... more.

Bookworm Adventures 2 Review
0 CommentsPosted by Caleb on August 11, 2009 under Reviews
Bookworm Adventures 2 is a puzzle game from casual game makers Popcap. It combines the simplicity of Scrabble with interesting RPG elements to make for an incredibly addicting game. At first glance, the game seems to be targeted for a completely different audience, which is why I have yet to play the first one. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a strangely addictive puzzle games t... more. -

Whoops, I'm a day late on the Releasing This Week article. Oh well, that's what happens when things get super busy. This week looks like a decent week for games. Not stellar, just average. Looks like Hearts of Iron III got pushed back from last weeks release date, and is now listed to release this Tuesday. On the DS side of things, we have the FPS, C.O.R.E., and the re-release of Ph... more.

Official Final Fantasy XIV Site Updated
1 CommentsPosted by Caleb on August 6, 2009 under News
Might as well keep my Final Fantasy XIV news streak going. I just loaded up the official website to watch the trailer (again), only to be greeted by an entirely new design. The website now features a short prelude story about an attempted invasion of Eorzea (the games main continent) from an unknown force, leading to the current "Age of Adventurer's." There is also information on one of the... more.

First In-Game Screenshots of Final Fantasy XIV?

Yesterday's Final Fantasy XIV info came from a leaked Weekly Famitsu article. Today sees another leak from the Dengeki Playstation magazine. Well, actually, a lot of this info came out yesterday, but now there are pictures. The picture above looks to be a party of an Elezan, Hyuran, and a Roegadyn at an outpost of some sort. The crystal structure in the middle is rumored to be a method... more.
