In his keynote speech for the Social and Online Games Summit at this year's Game Developers Conference, Playfish Vice President and co-founder Kristian Segerstrale speculated that in three to five years the term "social games" will be akin to the phrase "electronic television" in that social networking will eventually become so intertwined with video games that social games will cease to become a ... more.
  • Modern Warfare 2: A Booster’s Paradise 5 CommentsPosted by Dillon on December 16, 2009 under General
As most of you undoubtedly know, Modern Warfare 2 has had more than its fair share of glitches. We thought it was bad when the Javelin glitch came about that gave people cheap, easy kills. There was and is a way to boost using a riot shield, the perk One Man Army, and any other weapon you want. The player would earn points by having another player crouch behind a riot shield while the other play... more.

  • Halloween Week 0 CommentsPosted by Ben on October 28, 2009 under Articles, General
Every year, a certain week saunters by. This week is unlike any other seven day span; there are no Mondays, no Hump Days - even Friday is a distant figment of some forgotten higher will. Within this week, zombies, bats, ghosts, and vampires become commonplace, no longer frightening creatures of the night. In every storefront and in the lawns of the classless lie beacons of a singular day among... more.
  • Maddening Sequels 1 CommentsPosted by Leon Thomas on October 27, 2009 under Articles, General, Original Content
I recently finished Final Fantasy X for the first time, quickly smashing through Tidus’s poor papa with all the ferocity of a tiger with a chainsaw; and when it was all over, I was left with a great sense of satisfaction. I had saved the world. We saw peace in our time, and the party of misfits celebrated by eating muffins made of rainbows. A good time was had by all (or me anyway, because it is... more.
  • NHL 10 Review 1 CommentsPosted by Dillon on October 12, 2009 under General, Reviews
NHL 09 garnered huge success, and its successor, NHL 10 has been released. There are not quite as many innovations as the last installment, but there is still enough there to keep you hooked. It definitely isn't a step in the wrong direction, but if it is a step in the right, it's a minor one. Don't get us wrong, the game is just as good as last years, it just doesn't have the surprise that came... more.

  • TGS Previews: Silent Hill Shattered Memories 1 CommentsPosted by Alex Beech on September 27, 2009 under Articles, General, Previews
Silent Hill:Shattered Memories is a remake/retelling of the original Silent Hill Playstation 1 game, set for release on both PSP and Wii. It promises a higher reliance on evasion than previous installments, removing the combat that has long been slated as one of the games weakest elements. Playing the Wii version with headphones on in a darkened Konami booth, I was initially surprised by how go... more.
  • TGS Preview: Ninety-Nine Nights II 1 CommentsPosted by Alex Beech on under Articles, General, Previews
To the people who don’t know what Dynasty Warriors is, it is what you thought you wanted side-scrolling beat ’um ups to evolve into when we hit the Playstation 2 generation; fields of mindless enemies that you are able to mow down like grass. The sequel, Ninety-Nine Nights II (N3II for short), continues this trend of over-powered warriors hacking their way through fields of lesser men, women a... more.
